What is your specialization in architecture?
TAA group is an International studio for Architecture, Planning, Design and Property Development led by Tayo Ayanlola. Our goal and central concern is to harness design's ability to empower people and transform communities and organizations. We specialize in Hospitality, Residential, Restaurants and Healthcare Designs.

What is it for you a good architectural design?
A good architectural design is one that takes into consideration both the science and art of Architecture; meaning the structure is aethetically pleasing and meets the requirements of the owner and also helps the environment and the community in a positive way.
What era of architecture most fascinates you?
The period that we are now due to the advancement of science, but in all the renaissance period - Roman era - which paved the way for todays Architecture that is meaningful.
List the name of a famous building which you don't care for.
Any public building without a thoughtful address of the environment.
What hardware and software do you use that you deem as indispensable?
Freehand sketches and eventual Architectural software tools, do not care which one: AutoCAD, DataCAD, Microstation etc.
In which city do you live or work and why?
I live in Dallas, Tx and also in London Uk and work across the Globe. We are an International design firm and work across continents: Africa, Europe etc.
Do you work with other architects? How is the team set up?
Yes we collaborate with other Architects on some projects..
What do you think of competitions? What types of competitions do you normally compete in?
Competitions are great, but we have not participated lately.
Mantaining the signature of a building, how is the identity of the surroundings respected?
Any good design has to take its surrounding into consideration...

Tadao Ando.
In your professional philosophy, what comes first, function or form?
Form definitely follows Function..
Do you view suburban sprawl as an ecological threat and a waste of resources? Do you advocate for more vertical and denser town planning?
Varies, Location.
What will the single-family home of 2050 be like?
Improved on where we are today, mostly on the environmental side.
For you, which new materials provoke the most interest?
Environmentally friendly materials.
Bioclimactic architecture, domotic systems...do you think we are approaching a profound revolution in architecture?
Think we are but very slowly..
In the development of a project, do you feel closer to the client or to the public as a whole who will use the final product?
The pharahons built pyramids, and bankers skyscrapers: will architecture always be a symbol of power?
Imagine your ideal house. Where would it be? What would it be like?
A self sufficient house anywhere in the world..
Can one copy and still be original?
You learn, get ideas but not copy....nothing copied is original!!
Where is the balance between deeply-rooted architecture and that which responds to its particular era?
The future will tell..
Spectacular architecture: do you believe that buildings are becoming more and more media phenomena?
Yes I do..
What motto would you like to see inscribed at the entrance of the university's department of architecture?
To protect life and property only
What would be your dream project at this moment?
A project that has a positive impact on the environment and the way we live.
